All of the following college counseling services are included in the full package:

Unlimited Service

With the full package you receive unlimited hours of college counseling, including all email, discussions, and telephone consults. There are no "hourly limits" of any kind that you are held to when you purchase a full package.

The Comprehensive Evaluation

The comprehensive evaluation is a crucial aspect for developing a college counseling plan.  It allows me to gain insight into the student's needs. 

Preparing the Best College List:

Based on the ongoing Comprehensive Evaluation and a robust understanding of a large number of American colleges, a list of colleges will be developed over time. Whether you seek an Ivy League college or not, PCCOFA can help you find the best college for your needs.   

The initial college list will start off rather large. Then, the student will be asked to research the various schools, which will allow them to play an important role in refining the list. With this research in-hand, together with my understanding of the institutions, we will ultimately narrow the list down to 8-12 schools that best match the student's profile and needs. The final list will also be designed to provide the appropriate ratio of "reach" schools, "mid-range" schools, and "safety" schools. Having personally visited and/or spoken with alumni and administrators of a large number of American colleges, I can often assist the student by making recommendations from first-hand experience.

Help Planning High School Curriculum and Extracurricular Activities:

Timeline development, student assignments, and regular follow-up's to make sure that the student is on track.

During your college counseling, we will strategize about planning the high school curriculum, when the best time is to submit the applications, to ask teachers for recommendations, to take the standardized exams, and to begin working on the essays. I will keep a close eye on the student's progress, making sure that they are researching the schools on our college list, and getting those important teacher recommendations. We will also speak on an ongoing basis about summer program planning, extracurricular activities, and other factors that can maximize the student's chances at college admission.

College Application Help:

Providing assistance in giving students a clear understanding of what needs to be done (and when) for each college application.

I will make sure that the student has a clear understanding of what needs to be compiled for each application, and what the all-important deadlines are. Each application requires something different:

Official Transcripts: (How do I get them? How many do I need?)

Teacher Recommendations: (How many do I need? Who do I ask? How do I send them?)

Standardized Test Scores: (How do I send them out? Which tests do I need?)

We will work together to make sure that all of the materials are properly gathered for each application, and in a timely fashion.

Help Writing College Essays

Unlimited college essay help, which includes college essay development and reviews are included in the full package.

The college essays are an extremely, extremely important part of the college application. It is not unusual for the college essays to be the difference between an acceptance and a rejection letter; a spectacular college essay can be the key to college admission for a borderline high school student, while a poor college essay could truly mean disaster for a stellar student. Developing excellent college essays is often the most challenging and time consuming part of the college application, especially since good college essays actually differ in style from those that students are used to writing in high school.

With this service, the student will be taught how to write excellent college essays. Ideas for essay topics will be brainstormed, and unlimited reviews and re-writes will be provided until the essays are perfect.

Help with Reviewing College Applications:

Unlimited college application reviews are included in the full package.

Detailed review of a student's college application is an extremely important part of the overall admissions process. Sometimes even the smallest errors can result in a rejection letter. Moreover, as student academic profiles are becoming increasingly competitive and uniform, colleges are placing more emphasis on evaluating the extracurricular and supplemental sections of the application. At the same time, these sections are often the most difficult for students to complete, and truly require special attention in order for students to properly highlight their accomplishments.

This service provides a complete review of the completed applications, as well as detailed feedback for the student to make any necessary changes. For each school the student applies to, the applications will be reviewed as many times as necessary to make them absolutely perfect!

College Application Follow-up:

After the applications have been submitted, each college will be contacted directly to make sure that the applications have been received and are complete.
